One of Tom’s first musical endeavors was playing the bass guitar and singing in the pit orchestra for his High School’s production of the famous children’s story, Really Rosie (music by Carol King). Ever since, much of his songwriting has had that special spark of entertainment and fun in it.
But, it wasn’t until the summer of 1999, when Tom was accepted into the prestigious Faneuil Hall Street Performers Program, (Quincy Market Place – Boston, MA) that he started to focus on songs and entertainment specifically for kids, while still entertaining the parents they were with.
As a street performer with the goal being to perform for kids and adults alike, Tom has written friendly, up beat, positive songs, as well as learned to cover some classic tunes that catch kids ears of all ages including ‘Charlie on the MTA’, ‘Feeling Groovy’ (Simon and Garfunkle), ‘A Little Help From My Friends’ (The Beatles), ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ (Toy Story) and many more.
In November of 2004, Tom wrote the Boston Red Sox victory anthem, “The Day The Curse Was Reversed”, selling tons of copies online and at shows. This kids song is destined to be a baseball classic!
Although Tom’s repertoire of original and cover songs is extensive, perhaps the greatest asset to his performance is his ability to improvise. Tom creates songs on the spot about things happening at that very moment making the show a memorable experience for all. Tom makes everyone part of the show, and kids love that!
Tom has performed at schools, public events, birthday parties, YMCA events, special needs children’s events and more. After 12 solid years of performing across the greater Boston area, Tom is going strong!
